A Tryad system is composed of two major parts:
The T1 CPU, redefining the term “CPU” within an instrument system.
The T2Multiplex Wind/Boatspeed/NMEA input Interface.
The T3 e/Series -Optional- interface (all formats) can be added to enhance the system's additional features.
T1 Tryad CPU
The T1 Tryad CPU steps up to a new level of performance and capability.
As you may know, our standard model 001 CPU - the gray box - acts as a power supply and CPU with all sensor inputs and auxiliary functions provided by “upstream” interfaces.
With upgraded switching power supply and PC104 based processor includes a number of important functions at CPU level, processor speed and computing horsepower are boosted far beyond the 001’s Z80 chip(Selectable Processor type 8086 to Pentium level), with software modification and upgrade access enhanced through Compact Flash storage.
Backwards Compatible with pre-Tryad Ockam systems
Enhanced T1 models will featureOptional Internet Protocol connection, with Ethernet virtual Serial port data routing.
T2 Wind/Boatspeed/NMEA Interface
The Tryad T2 interface combines the functions of the 022 and 015 models Wind and Boatspeed interfaces with a third NMEA serial input (Compass or Depth for example).
A MEMS device on the circuit board provides heel measurement.
The T2 interface enclosure is the rugged, water resistant e/Series type, greatly enhancing total system durability in the often-harsh onboard environment.
Additionally, T2 will act as the basis for special analog sensor interfacing such as Stringpot displacement, barometer/temperature, and rudder/Trimtab.
T3 e-series Interface
Serial output sensors not addressed with T1/T2 system may be added with a T3 interface.
Already in full production, and based on the highly successful e/Series interfaces, the T3 Serial Interface both completes the new Tryad system and ensures continued support of older 001 CPU based Ockam setups.
All Ockam displays - 005 Standard Display, 007 Matryx, and 044 Magnum – are fully compatible with the Tryad and Unisyn Systems.
Tryad supports an even wider range of sensors.
With greater processing power and simple upgrading of CPU software code (files may be sent via email, loaded onto a compact Flash card at your PC, and easily loaded into the CPU), new, better sensor technologies can quickly enhance system performance.
The maximum benefits of higher performance devices such as the Ockam 033H compass are fully realized in a Tryad system.
