Nexus Marine
Systems
Presenting the Nexus Network

In 1980, Silva launched the Log 2000, which was the world's first marine instrument with a micro processor. The Nexus Network, introduced in 1993, was our first comprehensive series of analogue and digital
instruments for navigation at sea.
Now the time has come to present the third generation.
The new NX2 is built upon the success of the Nexus
Marine Network and is a navigation aid combining precision and aesthetics.
The NX2 possesses the essential functions, irresistible design and is the most flexible and compatible system available. In addition to the system being used in combination with the Nexus Network, it is also compatible with
other manufacturer's products.
This advantage is unique to the NX2. A hand-held GPS of another make, for example, can easily be connected to the NX2 via
the built-in NMEA port.
Even better news about the NX2, is that you do not need any other navigation system!

FACTS ABOUT NX2
-
GPS input via the server
-
Ready for wireless communication with Bluetooth.
-
NMEA port that allows data transfers to and from external units.
-
Multi Control instrument that can remote-control all digital instruments in the network.
-
Automatic configuration: the NX2 system senses which transducers are connected and configures the instrument menus automatically.
-
Transducers directly linked to the server – simpler installation and servicing.
-
One
cable links all the instruments in the Nexus Network.
Analog versus digital
Q?
Which work best, analog or digital instruments: A!
both.
Analog instruments display data with a needle and are easy to monitor at a glance Digital instruments display values with numbers and letters, making them more precise, in other words higher resolution. Another benefit, is that
most of them offer more data.
The NX2 system gives you the opportunity to choose the system that best suits your needs.
-
There are seventeen: six digital, ten analog, plus a remote control. With them you will receive straightforward and definitive information
regarding the boat's heading, speed, wind and position so that you can respond rapidly.
-
NEW frame design with softer, more appealing lines.
-
NEW display with a 15% larger surface and larger characters,
resulting in 50% improved readability in daylight.
-
NEW lighting and display technology allows 100% improved readability in darkness.
-
NEW light frequency (630 nm), which has a minimal effect on night vision, is also used in jet fighter aircraft.
-
NEW more distinct symbols for analog instruments.
-
NEW pushbutton system for even easier and faster operation.
FDX
Server
A marvel in miniature.
The server is the brain of the instrument and the "spider
center of the NX2 web".
The server is also an
intelligent direct connection box for the transducers and instruments, with the
built-in NMEA port, you can connect other compatible units,
regardless of make.
-
NEW built-in port for PC connection, using a standard PC cable.
-
NEW FDX interfacing via the Serial port.
