Nexus Marine by Garmin Discontinued Nexus Marine RaceBox Nexus RaceBOX puts Tactical Race Functions in the hands of the yachtsman The RaceBOX gives the competitive advantage of the Nexus Race SW in an compact and robust package.
Direct interfacing with Nexus NX2/NXR systems, the RaceBOX provides sailors with a plethora (abundance) of analytical information to existing Nexus instruments.
A micro-processor facilitates processing abilities that were previously available only with an onboard under-deck PC/Laptop.
Calculations of Polar or Target Boat Speed are then displayed by Nexus instruments where they are most useful "on deck".
Minimizing the use and without the power needed for the onboard PC/Laptop, the racer can now load his Polar tables/diagrams directly into the processor from a SD card or USB.
Coupled with a GPS unit it will also give time-to-burn and line bias on the start, (Nexus n-GPS recommended)
Furthermore the RaceBOX records data to the memory cards that can be easily removed for post-race download and analysis.
Note: Actual product may vary from the picture
The NX2 users can choose between three of the
information strings below, whereas NXR systems can
show all.
Dean Barker, Americas Cup skipper and co-owner of Nexus, comments “The RaceBOX gives tactical tools to the recreational club racer that have in the past been an exclusive reserve of the grand prix or luxury yacht. It is light and easy to integrate; the Nexus RaceBOX will give you the competitive edge for a fraction of the price of a laptop or a stand-alone start line timer.” PN 23300
